The Valet is a remake of the French film The Valet (2006) directed by Francis Veber and written by Bob Fisher and Rob Greenberg. It stars Michelle Kwan, Ryan Reynolds, Amy Smart, Richard Gere, Ben Stiller, Bill Murray, Gary Oldman, Zac Efron and Taylor Swift under the direction of Richard Wong. Max Greenfield, Betsy Brandt, Marisol Nichols, Amaury Nolasco, Carmen Salinas, Noemi Gonzalez, Armando Hernández and Carlos Santos are among the numerous stars in this family comedy. The movie is dedicated to Salinas, who passed away in 2021. The story follows a parking valet (Derbez) who is hired to date an actress (Weaving) trying to hide her extramarital relationship. Antonio Flores is a modest valet who lives with his mother, Cecilia. He is divorced from his wife, Isabel, and has joint custody of their young son. Natalie, the owner of a local bike shop in North London, is fighting to protect her neighborhood from impending gentrification plans. Meanwhile, actress Olivia Allan is having an affair with city developer Vincent Royce, a married billionaire. One night, as Olivia gets into her Uber with Vincent next to her, Antonio plows his motorbike into the vehicle. The three are seen together, prompting rumors of a possible affair between Olivia and Vincent. In order to preserve his firm if his wife Kathryn divorces him, Vincent devises a strategy for Antonio and Olivia to act like a couple. Because she wants to avoid any negative publicity surrounding the premiere of her latest feature film, Earhart, Olivia accepts Antonio’s offer. To pay for Isabel’ s debts, Antonio asks for $12,850.

Antonio and Olivia go out to lunch surrounded by photographers, where Olivia is cruel and calculating, while Antonio is ill-at-ease. The group is shocked when they’re all caught in the act, except for Kathryn, who hires a private investigator to tail them. She challenges Antonio at the premiere of Earhart, who defends himself when she criticizes his job. Antonio learns that he has acquired a following among Latin Americans after leaving the occasion. Antonio and his pals drive drunk Olivia home so that there won’t be any unflattering paparazzi photos.
On the third day, Antonio’s family cooks a wonderful dinner for Olivia. It was great to witness their closeness and affection for one another. The next morning, Isabel informs Antonio that she wants a divorce since she does not wish to be with someone who has so little respect for himself. Over their self-destructive tendencies—her aloofness and his humility—and they publicly “break up”. Later, Vincent’s lawyer approaches Antonio to offer him $25,000 as a settlement. Antonio is hesitant but eventually accepts it.
When Mr. Kim learns of the deaths of his wife, Cecilia, and their daughter Celine in the kitchen, he is devastated. Antonio delivers a heartfelt eulogy about his mother’s difficulties to provide him and his siblings a better life in America, and thanks Mr. Kim for bringing her joy. He speaks English so that Mr. Kim’s family may interpret. He makes amends with Olivia, who decides to break up with Vincent. In the film’s third act, Antonio tries to win back his ex-girlfriend Natalie’s affections. They fall in love again and remarry, just as it happened in real life. The film is dedicated to the memory of everyone who died during the making process.
