Hocus Pocus 2 movie reviews (2022) | Director: Anne Fletcher

hocus pocus 2 movie reviews cinemahdv2

Hocus Pocus is a film that has been watched on Halloween for years. The rituals associated with its consumption are fitting because it seems like something out of this world, and worth viewing at any time during the autumn or winter holidays!

When nostalgia is in the air, it can be hard to know whether or not we should add our own story. The prospect becomes inherently fraught when you consider what might happen if someone else’s memories come alive and take over theirs – but at least one person’s life has been changed forever by just such an experience!

Hocus Pocus 2 is an interesting film that has been stuck in between different times, audiences, and tones. It tries to do too much but still manages only mediocre results at best because it can’t settle on any one audience or mood for its varying scenes. Funnily enough, this follow-up just got released today! I’m sure you’ll find your way around though considering all of those possibilities.

The game is a remix, trying to please both old and new fans with its mix-and-match mechanics. The problem though lies in how difficult it becomes for players as they progress through the levels without enough broomsticks or jumps; some sections feel like sky scraping on the ground– Barely hovering off of any substance at all !

The film has a great deal of style but little substance. It’s flashy and fun, yet leaves you feeling empty at the end credits roll by because there is nothing to really hang your hat on when it comes down right after some very interesting characters have been introduced – these people don’t even seem real!

It’s been 29 years since the Sanderson sisters last showed up in Salem. Although their legend has become commercialized and for some people written out of existence altogether, it’s still clear that these three women have had an impact on this town like no other before or since – which is why I was so excited when they finally made came back!

The three sisters were expelled from their town for being too unconventional, bucking the male-dominated culture of the time by refusing marriage and finding solace in the woods with a witch (Hannah Waddingham). The first film began with three witches who were trying to suck the life out of a small child, but this time around they’re set up as radical girl bosses and mischievous yet misunderstood inventors. They don’t kill any kids either – an interesting change from how things went in their previous outing!

The Sanderson sisters were not as sadistic or malicious in 27 Dresses but they still managed to be clearcut villains. They got their power from inhaling the life-force off children, like how Roald Dahl’s witches do; however, this time around director Anne Fletcher has sanded them down into dust with some uncomfortable scenes that leave you feeling ambivalent about what happened -or more accurately didn’t happen?

Salem is known for its lethal patriarchy and how women can be liberating forces in society, but I’d argue that the Hocus Pocus sequel might not be the best place to explore these narratives. The band brings a contemporary touch to this heavy-handed show with its sugary finish, taking us away from where we started. They bring in new emotions and ideas through the power of sisterhood as well!

Movie Rating: 4/5

What’s so wrong with wanting bad guys to be … well, you know what I mean? The de-fanged Mean Girls musical on Broadway is just a perfect example. It made me feel like maybe there are some things that never change and always will be: vicious bullies being turned into a feminist empowered badass!

The youngest witches face off against the next generation in this direct sequel to “The Witches of Protection 2″. This time around we see Whitney Peak playing Belissa Escobedo, another strong female character if ever there was one! But Thora Birch doesn’t return for this film which leaves us wondering what her role will be since their relationship seemed so important from previous encounters; however, things aren’t quite as urgent or intense because these teens have “t yet had their powers taken away like before.

It is difficult to watch the movie because it feels like a chore. There are long explanations of what things do and why they’re important but none that really capture your attention or make you want more (in other words, there’s no toilet joke). With so many questions left unanswered, the sequel Hocus Pocus 2 seems more like an exercise in futility than anything else.

The returning trio is all as a game, committing to the bit despite dialogue from screenwriter Jen D’Angelo that lacks the fizz they deserve. We all know how much the humor in this movie changes from one scene to another. For example, there is less of a culture clash when they are trying on clothes because now it feels more natural for people who don’t speak English as their first language, and those that do can understand each other better due to them both being microphones (even though these were not invented yet). The only thing left behind after all these years later was an old Roomba at my local Walgreen which would be helpful sometimes but mainly just silly!

As a result of the success of Hocus Pocus 2, many families are likely going to be watching it together this coming Halloween. However next time they watch their favorite films or TV shows there is no guarantee that everyone will enjoy them as much because now those memories won’t include rankings and disappointments- just anticipation!
